# Exceptional states

Pilot treats exceptional states as part of the core product rather than an afterthought.

## One hedge leg fails

If only one leg executes:

* The strategy is marked **Opening incomplete**
* Pilot does not show it as a normal DN position
* Monetrix retries within preset limits
* If completion fails, the exposed leg is unwound

## Manual account activity

If the user trades, moves collateral or adds unsupported assets:

1. Monetrix detects the deviation
2. New risk is stopped
3. Current exposure is displayed
4. The user receives required actions
5. Automation may pause until the account is restored

Manual activity may affect liquidation-loss protection.

## Authorization expiring

Pilot warns the user before API authorization expires.

While authorization remains active, Monetrix continues normal risk management. The user can renew without moving funds.

## Authorization revoked or expired

If access is lost:

* Monetrix stops sending orders
* Monetrix can no longer rebalance or close positions
* The strategy is no longer shown as protected
* Read-only monitoring may continue where available
* The user must re-authorize or close positions directly

## HF warning line reached

When HF reaches 1.10, Monetrix may rebalance or partially close the position to raise HF and avoid liquidation.

This safety action remains available when new entries are stopped, as long as the service and API authorization remain active.

## Insufficient balance

If the strategy account contains less than 10,000 USDC, Pilot keeps launch disabled and displays the required funding amount.
